Owl Lane

Alconex were awarded the contract by Barratt Homes Yorkshire West to design, install and commission the Multi Utility Infrastructure and Streetlighting connections for their residential development at Owl Lane, Dewsbury for 260 plots.
The development features a collection of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes in the popular village of Chidswell. Works commenced in 2021 and are due to be completed in 2027.
Scope of Work
Alconex secured the site load from Distribution Network Operator and as a fully accredited Independent Connection Provider (ICP), we have handled the entire design, installation and commissioning works with the site subsequently adopted and maintained by a trusted Independent Network Operator (IDNO).
Temporary water and electric supplies were obtained by Alconex from the existing network operators to allow the early opening of the
Show Homes.
Alconex installed and commissioned a new 500kVA iDNO substation which was energised within the timescales provided by the developer to achieve their first legal completions.
Significant HV and LV diversions were required to facilitate the site and a new S278 roundabout. Alconex worked in collaboration with the Highways, Local Council and Groundworkers to ensure the works were completed within the timescales provided and minimal disruption
was caused.
